    Yes...this made my day!
    Coming out June 6

Preview of one tune on http://www.myspace.com/cheaptrick

Robin Zander still sounds awesome. I thought
their last CD Special One was one of the best in years.

    Most underated American band ever!

HA!!! Very cool to see them naming it "Rockford"!

Sounds good. Such a shame that they don't get more exposure still. After all these years they still turn out quality tunes. Heck, this new songs sounds like it could have been out of the first 5 albums even.

Good news. Are they underated though? Certainly my favourite American band by a mile.

I agree that the last album was great too - except for that abysmal 'Scent Of A Woman' song. Cringeworthy to these old lug 'oles! Let's hope it was just a a one-off...

Blitz, perhaps among snobby rock critics they are underated, but amongst musicians they're not is what I was trying to say without saying it.
Probably my all time favorite band.

Why does everybody hate "Scent of a woman"? sure the lyrics are shmaltzy but the song as a whole I thought pretty much rocked, especially live. I wasn't too jazzed on Sorry Boy or My Best Friend, one of those was about 2-3 minutes way to long and was basically filler.

The new song was co-written by Linda Perry of 4 Non Blondes.

Thought the album was great up until the hum along thing at the end. "Scent..." is cheesy but they do have a habit of doing that. As long as they keep them coming, an alltime fave of mine also.

I totally agree with you, Hazardous - my question was rhetorical.

Can't agree on 'Scent' though I'm afraid. A stinker as far as I'm concerned...

    Updated info on the CD

Cheap Trick is set to release the highly anticipated new studio album Rockford on June 6th, 2006 via Cheap Trick Unlimited/Big3 Records.

The first single "Perfect Stranger" - produced by Linda Perry and co-written by Cheap Trick and Perry- impacts radio on April 3rd, and many stations have already begun to play the record, well in advance of the official impact date.

"This new record has all the best elements of our entire catalogue. It's by far our best work yet," says bassist Tom Petersson.

From the sweet simplicity of "O Claire" to the boisterous anthem "Welcome To The World," Rockford exemplifies the best of Cheap Trick. The complete track listing features:

    Welcome To The World
    Perfect Stranger

    O Claire
    This Time You Got It
    Give It Away
    One More Day
    Every Night And Every Day
    Dream The Night Away
    All Those Years
    Decaf

    Produced by Cheap Trick
"Perfect Stranger" Produced by Linda Perry
    Mixed by Steve Thompson

Cheap Trick features the original line-up of Robin Zander - vocals and guitar, Rick Nielsen - guitar and back up vocals, Bun E Carlos - drums and back up vocals and Tom Petersson - bass and back up vocals.

Cheap Trick will be touring throughout the year in support of Rockford. Stay tuned for details!
